About

Set in the Normandie-Maine Regional Naturel Parc, our charming gite is a magnificent place from which to explore the treasures of Normandy while enjoying fine food and experiencing a new culture! A centre for apples and pear orchards, as well as the production of calvados, this area offers gorgeous views and interesting opportunities in all seasons.

Our neighbourhood village, Barenton, is conveniently located for visits to a number of popular tourist attractions including Le Mont St. Michel, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Normandy Landing beaches, Domfront, the Grand Cascades of Mortain and many other points of interest.

Barenton, 2.9 kms from Bonsentier, has a small supermarket, a butcher, a doctor (he is also the mayor), a hardware shop, a restaurant/bar, and, of course, the patisserie/boulangerie for fresh croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes. Taste the local delicacies at some excellent nearby restaurants or cook at ‘home’ using fresh, home-grown produce from one of the nearby weekly markets.

Enjoy an elegant pace of life among friendly people in scenic places filled with history or simply relax with a book/kindle under the patio awning in a peaceful garden setting. Located in wooded, rolling hills in the middle of Normandy farming countryside, Bonsentier Gite offers a relaxing respite with many stimulating experiences and activities within easy driving distance.
